Each year around the world we acknowledge International Women’s Day on March 8. This year, for the third time, Equity Works marked the day with our event Celebrating Women Who Care. This event is hosted jointly by Equity Works and Paula Brennan from Paula Brennan Photography and can only be described as a day that fills our hearts!
On Wednesday March 9th 2017, Equity Works gathered this dynamic group of women together (from left Martine, Kathryn, Sarah, Jamie, and Nicole) to address a group of Sunshine Coast business people on the topic of Celebrating Ability, Creating Equity.
In the spirit of reconciliation Equity Works acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land where we work, play and live, the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people. We acknowledge and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture, with sovereignty never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
